The Election

I'll be honest, I truly thought President Trump would win the election, so big, the other side wouldn't even be able to contest it. I just couldn't believe that a majority of this country is ready to go down the socialist path. Guess I was wrong.

As it stands now, we'll be lucky if Trump even wins. If he does, it will take a lot of legal action. Do I think he has been railroaded again, I do. Do I think he can overcome it, that's yet to be seen. Sure wish he could.

Of course if Sleepy Joe does actually win, we all know he won't last a year in office then it'll be Kamala Harris president. If that doesn't scare you to death, nothing will.

Fact of the matter, if Trump does lose, it just means we headed down the dark road four years earlier than we might have other wise. This was the last presidential election that a republican would ever have a chance to win. In another four years, I doubt there will be any republicans left in any positions of power anywhere in federal government.

It is what it is. We'll just hope that somehow Trump can find a way to pull this election out.

No big surprises in the Lenoir City election. All the "Yes Mayor" candidates who were heavily supported by the mayor won. Jennifer Wampler was the highest vote getter so she will be vice mayor again. Of course she'll never get to preside over a meeting. If Mayor Aikens is ever unavailable for a meeting, it's just canceled. Eddie Simpson came in second with Mike Henline finishing third. There were three antiestablishment candidates who all had good votes but with three of them dividing up the anti incumbent vote, none of them was able to grab a slot.

All three incumbent school board members were also re-elected.

Fact of the matter is, apparently, the majority of Lenoir City voters are happy with their current government. They put them back in office over and over. So there shouldn't be any complaints about their taxes, rain taxes or the actions their officials take.

They get what they vote for.
