News Herald Arrest Report
Drunken dispute ends in
multiple charges
A
Loudon man and woman were arrested for domestic assault
Sept. 16 following a physical altercation caused by the
consumption of alcohol.
After further investigation, the man was also charged with child abuse and forgery a few days later. Loudon County Sheriffs Office Deputy James Padgett responded to a physical domestic call in Loudon and talked with Kevin Reniery Landa Ardon, 26, and Charity Zerena Branson Collopy, 20. Both said they had been drinking alcohol when Ardon punched Collopy in the mouth, which caused bleeding, and Collopy attempted to strangle Ardon and scratched him on his neck and back of his right arm, also causing bleeding.
Padgett asked both
if they needed medical attention, and they said they did
not.
Three days later, Loudon Police Officer Samuel Harrison was following up on the incident and learned a child had been present during the altercation and ran to a neighbors house in an attempt to call 911. Arden was accused of dragging the child back to his residence and throwing the child through an open door. Harrison saw visible injuries on the child consisting of a small cut to the right arm, a small puncture wound to the left shoulder area and an abrasion to the right side of the neck. Harrison also discovered several forged documents believed to have been created or transported by Ardon, including two forged U.S. Social Security cards and two forged U.S. permanent resident cards. The documents were verified as fraudulent through a government database. Ardon was charged with two counts of domestic assault, forgery and child abuse or neglect/endangerment and held on $47,500 bond. Collopy was charged with domestic assault and released on $1,000 bond.
