News Herald Arrest Report

Drug bust at train tracks, other arrests

STAFF REPORTS

On Monday, June 16, Deputy Nathaniel Reagan of the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office spotted a female in a squat position in the rocks leading up to the train tracks on Christian Street and Elm Street.

At first glance, she looked like she was in pain and, being in such close proximity to the tracks, Reagan exited his vehicle and approached her. When he began to approach her, however, she began to walk away toward Lee Highway.

The sheriff ’s deputy tried to get her to come closer to him so as to not interfere with traffic, which she hesitantly did while remaining close to the road.

As Reagan began to question her, the suspect became very indirect with her answers. She would not say her name after several repeated requests for it — with Reagan explaining the importance of the request just for her to state she was leaving the area anyways.

Eventually she became extremely agitated, shouting her last name before storming off, according to reports.

Deputy Reagan attempted to gain control of her left arm, which she pulled away yelling and actively trying to get away. Eventually, she surrendered her hands to Reagan and was detained.

After the initial detainment, she gave up her Social Security number and consented to a search of her persons and belongings. Reagan asked if she was in possession of anything he may not have found, to which she said that she didn’t.

On the dispatch, Deputy Reagan was alerted that she had two active warrants for violating her parole from the Loudon County Criminal Court. After this, the suspect, known as Kristina Jones, was placed under arrest.

Reagan again asked if there was any other paraphernalia on her person. She then said there was, pulling out a clear container with a pill inside and a folded piece of paper out of her bra.

She said that the pill contained suboxone, and the paper also had suboxone on it. Inside the napkin was a white, crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.
