News Herald Arrest Report
Driving critique ends in
assault charge
A
Loudon man was charged with aggravated assault Saturday
after attempting to choke his passenger.
Lenoir City Police Officer Riley Miller talked with a woman after responding near the intersection of U.S. Highways 321 and 11. The woman said she and Joshua Edward Allison, 45, were together when Allison got upset because the woman criticized his driving. She made Allison pull over in a parking lot so she could drive, but after exiting the vehicle Allison grabbed her by the throat and began choking her. The woman estimated the incident lasted two minutes and said she was unable to breath. She said Allison stopped choking her because of nearby traffic, and he fled on foot.
The woman had red
marks on her neck that were consistent with her story.
Allison was found by officers soon afterward on McGhee
Boulevard.
Allison was charged with aggravated assault and violation of probation and held on $15,000 bond. Aug. 13
