In this episode of Dirty Deeds, a community member
brought this on to my attention. Another property changing hands
for free. This one involves the old West Hills School
property and names you've already heard.
- In 1963, Loudon County sold the 2.77 acre
property to Lenoir City for $40,000.00
- In 1986, Lenoir City sold the property to Lenoir
City Treasurer/Recorder, Jim Wilburn and partners, for $44,000.00.
Wilburn converted the old school into a storage building.
- In 2016, Wilburn and partners gave, quit
claimed, the property to Lenoir City mayor, Tony Aikens. Aikens
signed a sworn affidavit that he paid nothing for the property and
the property had no value. No state transfer tax was paid. It
remained a storage building.
- In 2017, Tony Aikens gave, quit claimed,
the property to attorney Amanda Smith. Ms. Smith signed a sworn
affidavit that she paid nothing for the property and the property
had no value. No state transfer tax was paid. It remained a storage
building.
- In 2020, attorney Amanda Smith, gave, quit
claimed, the property to BSG LLC/Brewster's Service Group
LLC/Ken Brewster. Somebody, I can't read the name, signed a sworn
affidavit that they paid nothing for the property and the property
had no value. No state transfer tax was paid. The building is now
being cleaned out.
The Brewster deed (see below) states that it was made
on June 5th, 2020, but at the end, it says it was registered on March
31st, 2022. Not sure what that's about.
The rumor in the community is that someone is wanting
to build apartments on the property.
Sure wish I had friends that would just give me
property.
