Dirty Deeds 7
I have been quick to point out when Lenoir City
mayor, Tony Aikens, cheats the system by not paying the taxes on
property transfers. I will also be just as quick to report when he does.
For the first time I've noticed, in a long time, Aikens bought and sold
a parcel of property and the transfer taxes were paid on both
transactions. A quit claim deed was not used in either sale.
On March 3rd, Aikens bought a parcel of property at 1213 East Broadway for $90,000.00. Then on March 7th, Aikens sold the same property to his friend and fellow LCUB board member, George Bove for $140,000.00. Seems like Mr. Bove could have saved himself $50,000.00 if he had just bought the property from the original seller, just saying. Not sure why mayor Aikens has had a sudden change of heart on paying his taxes, but I'd like to welcome him into the world the rest of us live in where we have to pay our taxes.
