At about 3:00, a crash occurred on Interstate 75 south when a car left the roadway traveling down an embankment and ended up blocking Hotchkiss Valley Road for several hours near Happy Hollow Road. There was one fatality.

About 5:30, a small fire behind a house on Martel Road got out of control and into some nearby woods. The Fire Rescue and law enforcement responded and brought the fire under control. Martel Road was closed for a short time.

Then around 6:00, a serious head on crash occurred on Tellico Parkway near the silos. Multiple serious injuries were reported. Tellico Parkway was closed for several hours.
