County's Narcotics Unit reports successful drug bust

Five individuals face drug possession charges after a successful search by the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office was initiated at a Lenoir City residence.

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 9:49 a.m. the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office Narcotics Unit reportedly executed a search warrant at 411 N. E St. in search of controlled substances.

According to the report obtained by The News-Herald, the Sheriff ’s Office’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team secured the residence and made contact and detained 46-year old Ted Hamilton, 53-yearold Robert Rushing, 54-year-old Mary Arden and 59-yearold Kimberly Morgan of Lenoir City, along with 42-year-old David Morgan of Philadelphia, Tenn.

The report also mentioned a sixth man, who was likewise detained.

Upon search of the residence, the Narcotic Unit recovered 13.6 grams of methamphetamine, 54 grams of suspected black tar heroin, 1.11 grams of powdered fentanyl and 78 grams of suspected blue powder fentanyl, along with 79 round gray pills with a box “M” imprint on one side and “20” on the opposite side.

These pills are believed to be pressed fentanyl pills, intended to imitate 20 milligrams of oxycodone. In addition to the controlled substances, the Narcotics Unit also recovered hundreds of empty bags, digital scales and $975 in U.S. currency and in various denominations — believed to be the proceeds of drug sales.

The report states that investigators also recovered 1.21 grams of methamphetamine from the main living space, along with various types of drug paraphernalia.

All subjects, excluding the sixth man, were taken into custody.

According to the report, upon arrest David Morgan was found to be in possession of 1.27 grams of methamphetamine concealed in a purple cylinder container in his pants pocket.

Furthermore, Rushing reportedly had an active warrant for violation of probation out of Monroe County.

All subjects were transported to Loudon County Jail without incident.

Hamilton was charged with manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and was held on $52,000 bond.

Rushing was charged with assisting other agency, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and was held on $52,000 bond.

Arden was charged with maintaining a dwelling where drugs are sold, manufacture, delivery, sale of Schedule I; manufacture, delivery, sale of Schedule II; manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines; possession of drug paraphernalia and was held on $117,000 bond.

Kimberly Morgan was charged with manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and was held on $52,000 bond.

David Morgan was charged with manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and was held on $52,000 bond.

. Steven Michael Nixon, 31, Tallahasse, Fla., was charged with domestic assault and released on $1500 bond.

. Darvin Enrique Paz, 23, Loudon, was charged with headlight on motor vehicle, license required and released on $1000 bond.

. Amanda Lynn Bunch, 37, was charged with capias-municipal court, escape and held on $7500 bond.

. Abraham Fernando Deavila-Miranda, 20, Philadelphia, was charged with license required, underage driving while intoxicated, vandalism, violation of implied consent and released on $3000 bond.

. Mary Yvonne Arden, 54, Lenoir City, was charged with maintaining a dwelling drug sold; man., sell., del., resale schedule I; man., sell., del., resale schedule II; mfg., delivery, sale or possession of meth; possession of drug paraphernalia and held on $117,000.

bond.

. Anthony Jake Boruff, 55, Knoxville, was charged with violation of probation and held without bond.

. Diego Garcia, 24, Loudon, was charged with three counts of failure to appear-general sessions and released on $80,000 bond.

. John Lucas Pressley, 31, Clinton, was charged with two counts of violation of probation and held without bond.

. Richard Warren Shepherd, 46, Lenoir City, was charged with capias-criminal court, two counts of violation of probation and held on $15,000 bond.

. Jeanette Marie Smith, 42, Homeless, was charged with failure to appear general sessions and held without bond.

. Dustin Jerome Akers, 39, Knoxville, was charged with two counts of capias-criminal court, housed for court appearance and released on $138,000 bond.

. Quentin Lamon Allen, 46, Knoxville, was charged with convicted serving time and released without bond.

. George Robert Ellis Jr., 50, Cleveland, was charged with convicted serving time and released without bond.

. Zackery Alexander Finchum, 23, Athens, was charged with violation of probation and released on $1500 bond.
