Corruption, Kickbacks, Bribes?
| I have done several stories over the last few months,
really the last few years, about out of control development, mostly in
Lenoir City, and how it is going to negatively impact every aspect of
Loudon County from schools to traffic to flooding and to just our
quality of life. I have also asked a number of times, why would any
group of local, elected officials want to do to their city what Lenoir
City officials are allowing to happen, pertaining to unchecked
development. Every time I ask that question in a story, I am deluged with responses, corruption, kickbacks, bribes, under the table deals and so on. Problem is, I have no evidence to support any of those accusations nor has anyone ever produced any evidence of that. Even though it's impossible to understand the why or the method to their madness, to jump to the conclusion of misdeeds or illegal activity is a big leap from just assuming it's more about horrible policy decisions. That said, if anyone can produce any evidence of any wrong doing, shady actions, silent partnerships, under the table money or any actions not totally aboveboard, by any officials, you get it to me and I'll make sure the world knows. Otherwise, we'll just have to assume it's uncaring or just incompetency. Whatever the case, the results are the same. |
