Community Meeting
At the last commission workshop, a number of Glendale
and Unitia community members showed up to oppose a rezone of 78 acres of
property. The property is just south on the intersection of Unitia Road
and Hwy. 321. The developer requesting the rezone is John Cook. He is asking for the property to be rezoned from agriculture to residential with a Planned Unit Development, PUD, overlay. If approved, the developer could potentially build 195 houses. The property is currently owned by Jim and Tammy Russell. Commissioner Bill Satterfield who represents the area is going to have a community meeting with anyone who would like to attend to discuss the proposed development. Below are the details of the meeting. I want to thank the citizens that came out to the county commission workshop last week. Several spoke in opposition to the planned subdivision on 321. I will be having a meeting with any and all concerned citizens along with the builder/developers so opinions and information can be shared. The planning commission has already approved the rezoning and commission will vote on it Sept 7.
There will be a meeting for those citizens that have
an interest in the proposed subdivision on 321. The meeting will be
August 26 at 6:00 pm at the Glendale community center. The developer
will be there to answer any questions. |
