News Herald Arrest Report
Chattanooga woman claims false identity, faces multiple charges A Chattanooga woman with an active warrant now faces several charges after reportedly trying to pass herself off as someone else. On Tuesday August 20, at 7:37 p.m. … Deputy Khristain Kirkland with the Loudon County Sheriff ’s Office was advised to “Be On (the) Look Out” for a stolen vehicle from Knoxville. The vehicle was described as a 2012 Chevy Impala. According to the report obtained by The News-Herald, Deputy Palmer then located the vehicle on I-75 Southbound near the 71-Mile Marker. Deputy Palmer detained a lone female in the vehicle who identified herself as “Keva Santiago.” The woman who claimed to be Santiago then provided a Social Security number that wasn’t on file — as was the name and date of birth. Dispatch received a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) alert that the vehicle was stolen from Knoxville just hours prior and was being tracked via the victim’s cellphone in the car. Dispatch confirmed the alert was valid. “Keva Santiago” was later identified as 21-year-old Reanna Hymes of Chattanooga. Deputy Kirkland then located a picture of Hymes’ driver’s license and she then confirmed that was her picture. According to the report, Hymes continued to state that her name was “Keva Santiago” although she had been positively identified as Reanna Hymes via a driver’s license picture as well as tattoos on her neck. It was also revealed that Hymes has an active warrant out of Chattanooga for a failure to appear on a simple assault as well as a suspended driver’s license. While searching the vehicle, approximately two grams of possible marijuana was located in the passenger side of the vehicle, according to reports. Hymes also positively identified herself to the corrections staff as Reanna Hymes and by date of birth. Hymes was charged with arrest warrant-assist other agency, simple possession/ casual exchange, driving on revoked/suspended license, criminal impersonation, theft of property and was held on $10,000 bond. DEPUTIES STOP LEADS TO PHILADELPHIA WOMAN FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES Later on that same day, at approximately 11:24 p.m., Deputy Charles Watson with the Loudoun County Sheriff ’s Office, was sitting in his vehicle on Highway 72 in the area of Prospect Church Road. According to the report, Watson watched a sedan pass and he pulled out behind the vehicle to observe it. While observing the vehicle, he discovered that the owner of the vehicle has an active capias out of Loudon County. Watson then stopped the vehicle and made contact with the owner, 34-year old Heather Garza of Philadelphia, in the driver’s seat. Watson confirmed the capias and placed Garza into custody. Garza was then transported to the Loudon County Jail without incident. However, before entering the jail, Garza was asked by corrections staff if she had any narcotics on her person and she responded “no.” Upon being searched by corrections staff, a clear baggie containing 30 white rectangle pills fell from Garza’s person. The corrections staff notified Deputy Watson and he took custody of the pills and placed them into evidence. Garza said that the pills were alprazolam, according to reports.
