Budget Updates
The Loudon County commission will soon be adopting
the 2024-2025 budget. There will be several meetings throughout the next
few weeks until the budget adoption. May 29th: the budget committee will be presenting the proposed budget to the full commission. There will be no votes or public comment at this meeting. The meeting will be held at the Annex at 6:00 pm, . June 3rd: will be the regularly scheduled monthly commission meeting, 6:00 pm, at the Annex. June 17th: will be the regularly scheduled commission workshop. The meeting will start at 6:00 pm, at the Annex. This will also be the public hearing on the proposed budget. Also, of interest on the agenda will be a presentation by the Loudon County School Board administration on the proposed new school and other building related proposals. June 19th: the budget committee will reconvene, as required by law, to consider any information from the public hearing and commission. This meeting will be held at the county building at 10:00 am. June 24th: the commission will meet in regular session to consider any actions from the workshop and will also be voting on the proposed budget and the property tax rate which may or may not include a twenty-five cent property tax increase for the county school building plan. The meeting will start at 6:00 pm at the Annex. The new fiscal year for county government begins July 1st. Below is a table that breaks down, by appraised value, from a 100k, to a million dollar home with the implementation of a 25 cent property tax increase. It shows what your current property tax is and what it would be with a 25 cent increase and how much additional tax would be due per year.
