Like most other local governments this year, the budget was very challenging. The budget included more than a half million dollars in cuts. No raises for county employees or board of education employees was included in the budget but commissioners pledged to revisit the budget later in the year to see if revenues would support a possible employee bonus.

Loudon County still maintains one of the lowest property tax rates in the state. That's only possible by the conservative actions of commissioners in budgeting.
