Broken brake light
leads to drug bust
A Loudon woman was arrested Thursday after
police discovered drugs in her car during a
routine traffic stop.
Loudon County Sheriffs Office Deputy Marshall Lynn noticed a vehicle with a broken brake light and initiated a traffic stop. Lynn talked with the driver, Alexis Diane Waller, 19, who could not provide proof of vehicle ownership. Smelling an odor of marijuana, Lynn asked Waller to exit the vehicle and identify how much of the substance she had in her car and where it was located. After Waller retrieved a marijuana cigarette, Lynn told her he would be searching the car. Waller handed him a makeup bag containing 2.3 grams of meth in a baggie.
The
bag also held a marijuana smoking pipe and
grinder, two plastic containers with
marijuana residue, several baggies with meth
residue, rolling papers and a digital scale.
A search discovered two additional smoking pipes, a folded dollar bill containing meth and a rolled up bill, which appeared to be used for narcotics ingestion. Waller was arrested without incident and brought to the Loudon County Justice Center, where she was interviewed by narcotics investigators. According to Lynns arrest report, Waller told them you look at me and see a drug dealer, but I see someone who is just trying to provide for their family. Waller was charged with lights required on motor vehicle, simple possession/casual exchange, financial responsibility law, possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture, sell, possession of meth and released on $7,000 bond.
