Brewster Settlement
| Back in April, Brewster's Service Group abruptly
announced the closing of the business. Brewster's held contracts for
numerous Lenoir City/LCUB services including, mowing, tree trimming,
right of way maintenance and garbage.
One of the reasons mentioned, at the time, for the closing was that LCUB and LUB owed the business hundreds of thousands of dollars. Allegedly, Brewster's had billed LCUB $500,000.00 for back pay owed on the contracts and something similar with LUB. At last week's LCUB meeting, the board voted to pay Brewster's $215,000.00 on the back pay demand letter. Unknown at this time if LUB made any back payments. Since the closing, Lenoir City/LCUB has contracted with other entities to provide the services. |
