Bobby G. Johnson, Sr. - age 81 of Lenoir City passed away Friday, January 19, 2024. Bobby was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Degree in Engineering. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Lenoir City. He was a 30 year employee of the Lenoir City Utilities Board. He served on the Lenoir City School Board from 1987 - 2023 and the Lenoir City City Council from 2008 - 2020. Bobby was a volunteer fireman and member of the Loudon Co. Rescue Squad. He was an auxiliary police officer for 18 years and part-time police officer for 16 years. In 2020 a proclamation was presented to him declaring December 14th through December 19th as Bobby G. Johnson Sr. week.

Preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Letha Oran Johnson; parents, Gene “Blackie” Johnson and Dorothy Vinson Johnson; siblings, Judy and Ronnie Johnson. He is survived by his son, Bobby G. Johnson Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Brittnee Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Greta and Scott Phillips; grandchildren: Hannah Stillwell (Scott), Caitlyn Thomas (Brandon), Jacob Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, Natalie, Olivia, Addie, Chloe, Cole, Travis, Maddie and Brayden Johnson; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Lynnlee, Easton, and Bentley along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 22nd at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with his son, Bobby Johnson Jr. officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Tuesday morning and proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for 11 a.m. graveside services. Serving as pallbearers: Jeremy Johnson, Scott Phillips, Brandon Thomas, Jacob Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, and Cole Johnson.
