Aubrey's Closer?
| Last week, the owner of Aubrey's closed the deal on
the land behind Freddy's for the new restaurant. The land was bought for
$1,850,000.00. There were also two loans taken for $6,312,000.00. Looks
like the Aubrey's will be coming back. At the ground breaking, it was
said they hoped to be opened in the fall. On a side note, back in March, the Lenoir City council, at the request of Mayor Aikens, gave the restaurant a ten year PILOT, tax break, of more than a half million dollars. While the city hands out millions in tax breaks for certain businesses and residential developments, this marks the first time they have given such a tax break to a restaurant. |
