Attempted Pokemon theft ends
in arrest
A
South Carolina man is facing several charges after a call
about stolen items at a retail store on U.S. Highway 321.
Lenoir City Police Officers Riley Miller and Andrew Lee responded after the stores loss prevention team watched Travis John Plavka conceal merchandise and leave the store.
While in route, loss prevention stated that they observed
the male subject empty two cereal boxes and replace (the)
cereal with packages of Pokemon cards, Miller wrote in a
report. The male concealed the Pokemon cards into both
cereal boxes where he then taped the cereal boxes shut and
(proceeded) by going to self-check out to pay for only the
two cereal boxes and not paying for the cards that were
inside of the boxes.
Lee and Miller
detained Plavka in the parking lot near his white Dodge
pickup truck. Plavka gave consent for a search of his
vehicle, where officers found .60 grams of a
crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Plavka stated
that he had used methamphetamine only a couple of
times, Miller wrote in a report.
Plavka, 31, of
Simpsonville, S.C., was charged with theft of property
and manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth
and released on $62,000 bond.
Man faces assault
charge
A Lenoir City man was arrested Thursday for aggravated assault stemming from a Nov. 20 incident. According to a report from Lenoir City Police Officer Jason Arden, Andrew Joseph Jenkins, 40, attempted to take a 20-month-old boy from a woman and tried to wipe a real injury that he believed was fake from (the boys) head.
Jenkins grabbed
the boy and put his other arm around the womans neck in
a choking manner that restricted her ability to breathe,
Arden wrote in a report. Jenkins then threw the woman
across the room.
Jenkins was
charged with aggravated assault and released on $5,000
bond.

delivery, sale or possession of meth and held on
