At tonight's county commission
meeting, I will present a resolution that would prohibit the Loudon
County Planning and Codes Enforcement office from issuing any building
permits for any property, owned by or invested in by, non US citizens
from countries hostile to the United States. Currently, that list would
include,
China, Russia, Iraq, North Korea, Afghanistan,
Pakistan, Venezuela, Yemen, Syria, and Belarus.
This
resolution stems from the recent discovery that 125 Chinese citizens
have now invested over eight million dollars in 400 acres in Hotchkiss
Valley. County commissioners do not believe that foreign
investment/ownership by persons from counties hostile to the United
States should be allowed building or property rights in Loudon County.
See
resolution below.
Where as,
instability across the world continues to
escalate and many countries around the world
have become hostile to the United States,
and
Where as, it
is the duty and responsibility of the Loudon
County commissioners to serve and protect
the citizens and sovereignty of Loudon
County, and
Where as,
non US citizens from countries hostile to
the United States have began buying and
investing in land and property in Tennessee
and Loudon County,
Now therefore, let it be
resolved that the Loudon County Planning
Zoning and Codes Department shall be
prohibited from issuing building permits for
any property, owned by or invested in by,
non-US citizens from countries deemed
hostile to the United States.
Currently, that list would
include, China, Russia, Iraq, North Korea,
Afghanistan, Pakistan, Venezuela, Yemen,
Syria, and Belarus.
This list may be amended as needed.
The health,
welfare and safety of the residents of
Loudon County demand it.
