Arrest warrant shares new details in fatal Lenoir City shooting

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WATE) — An arrest warrant for the Lenoir City woman accused of killing her boyfriend provides more details on what led up to the shooting on January 18.

Ashley Sharp, 30, was taken into custody on Jan. 19 by the U.S. Marshals Service along with Vincent Ellis, 31. She has been charged with first-degree murder while Ellis was charged with being an accessory after the fact.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on Taylor Lane on the evening of Jan. 18 for a reported shooting. According to the affidavit within the warrant, the deputies found a man, later identified as Eric Matthew Leach, 38, who had been shot in the face. He was taken to Fort Loudon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the affidavit, a witness told law enforcement she was outside when Sharp drove up in a dark SUV with Leach in the back seat and a man, later identified as Ellis, in the front passenger seat. The witness continued, saying Leach began grabbing stuff from the truck when he and Ellis got into a fight. Sharp then approached Leach and shot him according to the affidavit.

Deputies then found a neighbor with an exterior surveillance camera which pointed toward the incident. Sgt Det. Chad Mcvay wrote that he reviewed the footage and after the shot was heard, saw Sharp and Ellis get back into the vehicle and drive away.

LCSO then asked for help locating the two, who were caught the next day by the U.S. Marshals Service. Sharp’s bond has not yet been set.
