Another PILOT
| More corporate welfare in the works, this time in
Loudon. The Loudon Industrial Development Board, IDB, recommended to the
city council a PILOT, Payment In Lieu Of Tax, for a secret business in
the Huntington Business Park. The project is known as Project
Washington.
Once again, elected officials are handing out tax breaks for multi-million dollar corporations putting more burden on the rest of the property tax payers in the city and county. Is it just me, or is Loudon following in the footsteps of Lenoir City? Approving hundreds of low to moderate income apartments and now handing out PILOTS. What is it with these city officials? |
