Another New School?
| Concord First Baptist Church is looking at a parcel
of land on Hwy. 70, adjacent to the Stone Crossing subdivision and the
Avalon subdivision for a potential high school and sports fields. The
plan would be over the next ten years, the church would first build the
sports fields, football, baseball, softball, etc. in the first five
years and the high school would come in the second five years.
The property is currently zoned R-1 meaning the property could only be developed in half acre, residential lots. Any other use of the property, other than R-1, would require a rezone of the property. This is not the first time the church has ventured into Loudon County. Several years ago, they had considered a similar plan on a parcel of property in the same general area. |
