News Herald Arrest Report
Alcohol fuels
local couple's fight Two Lenoir City residents are facing domestic assault charges after law enforcement responded Friday to their home. Loudon County Sheriffs Office Deputies Chance Gray, Lance Anderson, Tony Branson and Sgt. Chris Hutchens were sent to the 6000 block of Waller Ferry Road. Gray met Emily Rose Holmes, 37, who said she had been drinking with her husband, Ryan William Cox, 45, when she decided to go to bed.
Holmes
went to lock up the alcohol and noticed a bottle missing. Cox told
her that he gave the bottle to a minor in the house. After Holmes
attempted to get the bottle from the boy, Cox became upset and
shoved her. Holmes fought back.
She stated that Mr. Cox then
shoved her to the ground, grabbing her by the neck, Gray wrote
in a report. Mrs. Holmes stated she was then able to get away
and call the police. Mrs. Holmes did have marks on her neck and
a cut on her right hand.
Cox claimed he decided Holmes had
enough to drink and then attempted to hide the alcohol, which
caused her to become angry and attack him.
While talking with Mr. Cox, all
he would say is that Mrs. Holmes attacked him and drug him
across the concrete, Gray wrote in a report. Mr. Cox did say
that Mrs. Holmes did shove (the minor) ... multiple times.
The boy said the two argued over
Holmes drinking too much when Holmes walked up to him and began
shoving him forcefully, stating that he needed to leave, placing
him in fear for his safety, according to the report. The boy
admitted drinking alcohol.
Cox was charged with domestic
assault-misdemeanor and contributing to the delinquency of a
minor and released on $3,500 bond.
Holmes was charged with domestic
assault-misdemeanor and released on $1,000 bond.
