News Herald Arrest Report
Alabama man charged with pot
possession
After observing a black
Pontiac Grand Am weave while traveling northbound on Interstate 75,
Loudon County Sheriffs Office Austin Parton initiated a traffic
stop and talked with the driver and a passenger, Timothy Scott
Sandoval, 33, Alexander City, Ala.
After asking for a drivers
license, insurance and registration, Sandoval told Parton he did not
have registration inside the vehicle and handed him both their
identifications and insurance information. When Parton asked
if Sandoval had it in the glove box, he said "no." Parton also asked
if there was a weapon in the glove box, and Sandoval replied "no."
I then asked him if he would
be willing to open the glove box to show that he did not have a
weapon inside and he stated that he would, Parton wrote in the
report. Once Mr. Sandoval opened the glove box, I observed a
ziplock bag with green leafy substance believed to be marijuana
inside.
Sandoval said the bag belonged to him, according to the report.
He also said there was marijuana in the trunk.
Mr. Sandoval removed a grocery bag from the trunk and handed it
to me, Parton wrote in the report, adding the bag contained
30.7 grams of marijuana.
Sandoval was charged with simple possession/casual exchange and
released on $3,000 bond.

speech and was unsteady on his feet. Crawford allegedly refused
to take a field sobriety test and walked out of the school to
his vehicle. When Crawford put keys in the ignition of a gold
Dodge minivan, DeLand stood near Crawford at the driver's door
