According to sources, a 59 year-old Knoxville woman

Springs Park about 9 a.m. July 5.
As she approached the McGhee Boulevard crossing, a pickup truck was
traveling east on Sixth Avenue, to cross Rock Springs Road when it
struck her, resulting in a critical head injury, bystanders said.
Lenoir City Police and Loudon County Sheriff's Department blocked the
intersection during the investigation. Lenoir City Fire Department stood
by and washed down the roadway. It was unclear at the time of this
writing whether the driver of the truck stopped at the stop sign, which
is a four-way stop. Sixth Avenue from Kingston Street to Rock Springs
Road is a steep downhill grade approaching the stop sign at Rock Springs
Road. Sources identified the victim who died as Lorrie Williford
Lockridge, age 59. The driver of the truck is not being identified at
this time.
