911 Funding Cut 7

At last week's 911 board meeting, it was again discussed that Lenoir City mayor, Tony Aikens, still hasn't paid his 911 funding bill. 911 director, Rose White, has repeatedly billed the city only to be ignored.

Back in September of last year, Aikens informed the 911 board that he wasn't going to pay his bill because he was mad that the county had sued the city for two illegal annexations. The $10,000.00 is funding to provide NCIC services for the Lenoir City police department. Obviously, Akins isn't too concerned about the safety of his police officers.

The 911 board will continue to bill the city for their past due payment.

Ironically, Aikens posted on his official mayor Facebook page, appreciation to 911 for bring treats to LCPD for Police Week.

A big thank you to our friends at the Loudon County E-911, for your treats during Police Week!
