911 Funding Cut 14

As of the end of this fiscal year, June 30, Lenoir City mayor, Tony Aikens, will have stiffed the Loudon County 911 service for $20,000.00. As of July 1st, the beginning of the next fiscal year, Aikens will owe another $10,000.00. The 911 board directed the director to again send the back notice for the $20,000.00 and a bill for the 2025-2026 service for $10,000.00.

For what ever reason, Aikens refuses to pay his 911 bill even though the service he refuses to pay for is for the benefit and safety of his police officers. He seems to not care. And thus far, he has not allowed any discussion of the failure to pay to even be discussed at a city council meeting even though councilwoman Robin McNabb has tried.

Maybe someday, Aikens will pay his bills.
