Residents of
Tellico Village
The Village is
not being properly governed. Our board has disregarded the
boundaries set in our Covenant and Restrictions by getting a legal
opinion to support adding $80 to your water and sewer bill to pay
for TAP. They have told the Village this is required to pay for
“needed infrastructure” when just months before they said the
projects could be paid for out of our assessments, charges and fees.
The Board has refused to listen to Villagers who have questioned the
need for this fee, as well as whether the projects have been
properly vetted as to their need, alternatives and costs.
A group of
Villagers have decided to retain the services of an attorney to
explore the legitimacy of the board's legal maneuver, and to
communicate with our Board the need to take a step back on
implementing this fee. We are hopeful that it will end there, but
are prepared to bring formal legal action against the Board and
certain executives of our POA.
Please make a
donation to this fund. $80 is the recommended minimum, which will
send a message to the Board that we are serious about pushing back.
However, many Villagers have the ability (and have already done so
as several thousands of dollars have been raised ) to contribute
more.
A
not-for-profit (NFP) entity. “Voice of Tellico” is being set up to
share information on this initiative and to do a proper accounting
of monies contributed. At the conclusion of this effort, any
funds collected that are not used will be proportionately
distributed back, after adjustments based on size of contribution,
to allow for a full and fair accounting to those that have
contributed by name.
If you choose
to donate anonymously, any overage will stay in the community and
and be donated to an entity such as Timeless Tellico, or perhaps
others that we have established in our Village in order to make
Tellico Village a better place.
