Over the last few months, I had several contacts about the dangers of the intersection. Seems with the increased traffic, it had become the sight of lots of crashes. After speaking with several folks and some law enforcement officials, myself and Commissioner Duff asked county commission to request the highway department add the additional stop signs to make it a four way.

The highway department put up the new stop signs and also added early warning signs before the new stop signs to give motorist early warning of the new stops. We appreciate the quick work of the highway department.

I'm sure as the area continues to grow and traffic increases, someday we'll have to do a major upgrade of the intersection. But at least for now, hopefully the four way stop will make the intersection a little safer.
