4 Amendments
Lot of folks have been asking about the 4
constitutional amendments on the November ballot. Here's the short
version. Amendment #1 is about having to pay union dues. Tennessee is a right to work state, meaning, no employee can be forced to pay union dues to get or keep a job. The state law has been in place for a long time, since 1947. The idea is to make the right to work a part of the constitution. This would make it much harder to ever change than just being a law. Vote YES in #1 Amendment #2 is about the chain of command in state government in the event of deaths or other vacancy reasons. Vote YES in #2 Amendment #3 adds language in the constitution to outlaw slavery of any kind. Vote YES in #3 Amendment #4 deletes the language in the constitution that prohibits ministers or priests of any denomination from running for public office. Vote YES in #4 |
