| Turner Homes is proposing a new 26 home development
on Hwy. 321 just before the Blount County line on on Friendsville Road.
The developer described the development as affordable homes in the
400-500 thousand dollar range. They are asking for the property to be
rezoned to R2/Cluster which would not only allow the development but
would also allow for substandard lots of 15,000 sq. ft. lots.
Last month, the county planning commission approved the request with conditions. The request came before the county commission earlier this month but was tabled at the request of the developer. The request is to be on the March 3rd county commission agenda for consideration again. Anyone wishing to support or oppose this development should contact 3rd District commissioner, Bill Satterfield.
