| In less than a week since 2018 election petitions
became available, many candidates have picked petitions.
So far, all county elected office incumbents have picked
up except the two that have already said they will not be seeking
re-election. Commissioner, 4th district, Leo Bradshaw has announced he
will not seek re-election and Darlene Russell, court clerk announced she
was retiring.
There are some new names and some old. In first
district, Ken Brewster has picked up a petition to run against Kelly
Littleton Brewster. This would be a rematch from four years ago.
In 5th district, besides Sharon Yarbrough, Dr. Jan
Hahn has picked up a qualifying petition to run against me, as a
democrat. So what that means is, whoever wins the May republican primary
election would then have to run against the democrat in the August
general election.
