| In Lenoir City mayor, Tony
Aikens, ongoing quest to destroy the very fabric of Lenoir City, another
one of his favorite pet projects is breaking ground. The Villas at 321,
will be 172 single family rental houses at the intersection of Hwy. 321
and Hwy. 70, the old Horne property. The one major change from the original plan was the elimination of an access road from the development to Hwy 70 across from the entrance to the schools. 172 more rental properties going into the city, what could possibly be good for the city or the county on this one? When the developer was asked if this project was being marketed to retirees, he said no. This one will certainly be bring lots more children to the schools and lots more work for city and county services. Lenoir City mayor/council have approved or rezoned property for more than 6,000 new residential properties in the last eighteen months, mostly rental. When anyone asks why there is a necessity for a new county school, just point them to what the city officials have done.
