News Herald Arrest Report

Woman arrested following bomb threat

A woman from Gray was arrested Saturday after making a bomb threat.

Dispatched to a business on Market Drive, Lenoir City Police Officer Aaron Bialek spoke with employees across the street.

“I spoke with the drive-thru clerk ... who stated, a white female in her late 20s to early 30s with dark brown hair and driving a dark blue Nissan pulled up to the fourth lane of the drive-thru,” Bialek wrote in a report. “... The female grabbed the drive-thru carrier tube, put a note inside, sent it to her and left immediately. She saw the note said, ‘BOMB,’ she went directly to her manager ... and they evacuated the business before calling 911.”

Officers were able to identify the Nissan’s tag number, which came back to Brittany Nashae Reed, 30.

“Brittany was observed leaving the business ... and captured through the Flock cameras heading toward I-75,” Bialek wrote in a report.

Reed was charged with false reports/statements and held without bond.

Couple caught with meth

Two Rockwood residents are facing multiple drug charges after law enforcement stopped their vehicle Friday.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Luke Hawkins stopped the pair on U.S. Highway 321 near Williams Ferry Road after checking with dispatch on a vehicle registration.

Hawkins talked with driver Jennifer Leann Watson, 41, and passenger Carl Lewis Collins, 48. Watson said she wasn’t aware her registration wasn’t on file. Hawkins spoke with Watson while another deputy spoke with Collins and saw in plain view a cup in the cup holder. Collins denied the cup, which contained 21.4 grams of methamphetamine, was his. Watson also denied ownership.

While conducting a search in the vehicle, deputies found another cup with a baggie that had 84.2 grams of meth.

Two digital scales and a bag with several smaller baggies were found in the vehicle, Hawkins wrote in a report. While searching Collins, a glass pipe was found inside his right pocket that he said he uses to smoke meth. Deputies also found 7 grams of Fentanyl in a dime bag that Collins said he used as “seasoning” because he is a cook. Inside his left pocket was $587 that was seized by law enforcement.
Watson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, misuse of evidence of registration and driving while in possession of meth and held without bond.
Collins was charged with manufacture, sell, delivery, resale of a Schedule II substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth and held without bond.
