ROAN MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (AP) — A northeast Tennessee
woman celebrating her birthday is charged with assault, accused of
throwing a birthday cake and book at her husband because of a
disappointing gift.
According to the Elizabethton Star, 44-year-old Sandra Ann Valinote of Roan Mountain was upset because she did not receive the boots she requested for her birthday. Deputies quoted Steve Valinote as saying she threw a book and cake at him and then tried to choke him last Saturday. Sandra Valinote is to appear in court Monday. Attempts to reach her Wednesday for comment in her behalf were unsuccessful because the couple have no listed telephone number. Deputies said Steve Valinote had scratches on his face. |
