Who's Your Neighbor?
| Recently, I received an email from a reader who
related an incident where he had become acquainted with an individual
who had been visiting his business from time to time. The business owner
didn't really know the visitor and had no reason to have any suspicions
of the visitor. Eventually the business owner learned that he did in
fact have reason to be concerned about the visitor. Turns out, the
visitor is a convicted sex offender. The business owner suggested that I might remind other folks that we need to know who our neighbors could be. Tennessee maintains a sexual offender registry. Those on the registry have been convicted of some type of sex crime against a minor. According to the registry, Loudon County has 73 registered sex offenders. The database is searchable by name, county, city or zip code. The Bible even tells us to love our neighbor, but in this day and age it's important to know who your neighbor could be.
