Breaking from tradition, Mayor Matt Brookshire announced that he had asked Doyle Arp to perform the swearing in duties rather than the city judge. Councilman Tony Aikens announced that he asked Lenoir City Judge Terry Vann to swear him in.

Brookshire, councilmen Eddie Simpson and Bobby Johnson Sr. were sworn in by Arp. Aikens was sworn in by Vann. And alls right with the world. 

The next couple of years could prove interesting in Lenoir City politics.
