What's The Hold Up?

Coming up on three weeks ago, TDOT contractors set up the barriers to two lane the highway at the intersection on Hwy. 11 and 321. In those nearly three weeks, they have yet to do any kind of work on the side in front of Jets Pizza. On the other side of the intersection in front of Dr. Marty's car lot, they dug up the asphalt and then just quit doing anything. Several days have gone by with no activity at all. Who exactly is managing this project?

I think we all know that to make the kind of improvements planned for that intersection would cause some inconveniences, back ups and delays. We expect that. But I think we all expect that the contractors would do their best to minimize the pain as much as possible. Apparently in this case, they've decided to make it as painful as possible for as long as possible.

The old saying is, you've got to break a few eggs to make a cake. But you wouldn't break the eggs a month before you need to.

It'll be great when it's all done but if the new bridge construction is any indication we could be in for a long, long wait.
