VOTE FOR MIKE CARTWRIGHT

My name is Michael Cartwright and I would like to ask you for your vote and support in the upcoming Trustee race.

I was born in Loudon in March, 1963. My mother is Sharon Cartwright, but everyone knows her as “Cricket”.

My grandparents were Charlie and Bessie Tilley and many people knew my uncles “Knute”, Bobby, and “Honk” Tilley. My roots run deep in Loudon County.

I graduated Loudon High in 1981 and attended Roane State and the University of Tennessee. I also served in the Tennessee National Guard from 1981 until 1993.

Many people still remember the restaurant, “TC’s Pizza”, I owned and operated for several years in the west end of Loudon. I currently am the Assistant Director of the County’s convenience and recycling centers. I still have a small catering business, and serve at many functions throughout the county.

Some of the candidates will tell you that they feel the need to serve the public. I have served the public since the mid-80’s, when I was the president of the Loudon Merchants Association. Then, in 1989, I was elected to my first term on the Loudon City Council. Currently, I serve as a councilman for the city of Loudon and also, as a Director for the Loudon Utility Board. My terms in these offices have allowed me the experience to work with projects and budgets in the tens of millions of dollars and hundreds of employees.

Many people have asked why I am running for this office. The answer is simple: I feel that I am the best person suited to this job. I have experience in both the public and private sector. I have experience in bookkeeping and accounting practices. Plus, I know that every person that comes into the Trustee’s office not only wants, but expects, prompt, courteous and efficient service. I’m not doing this because I need something to occupy my time. I am running because I know that I can do this job well and do it well for many years to come.

There are six candidates running for this office. I think if you look at each one, at each individual trait that every candidate offers, I hope I am the one that you see as our next Trustee.

Thank You for your time, consideration, help and vote. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call (865-458-5583) or e-mail (mccartwright@charter.net) at any time.
