Volunteer Spirit: Eat ribs & build a Habitat home

LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn Two year old twins Jazmine and Lily Dalton are all smiles playing with their toys in their new home.

The last place they lived was a bit cramped.

Mom, Alicia Dalton says, "It was a basement basically, one bedroom and one very small bath. "I had to share a bedroom with the twins. It was not easy."

Jason Dalton, the twins' dad says, "They barely had any room to play."

They now live in a three bedroom home in Loudon. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

Executive Director, Shauna Oden says, "We sell our houses to the families at cost, no profit, with a zero percent interest loan. This makes the home affordable to the families. Their payment is like 400 dollars a month and that includes their taxes and insurance."

The Dalton's home is one of 30 in a subdivision called hope haven. Actually all of the homes here were built by habitat for humanity of Loudon county.

"It's close to the schools, close to work, and we see deer and wild turkeys everyday. It's a very pleasant neighborhood," according to Oden.

For the Dalton's, it' s the perfect place for the family to call home.
Jason says,"it's been amazing, we can go outside, we have room to run around and play- it's a blessing."
