Vol Fan continues half a century tradition

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT)-- For over 50 years, Morris Tisdale has held on to his season tickets and even though he can't go to the games he still never misses a game.

The story all starts when Morris Tisdale and his bride moved to East Tennessee, fell in love with the area and bought season tickets.

For years it was a family tradition to tailgate with the whole family; eating, drinking, laughing and being together.

Even though Morris doesn't go to the games anymore he still is a die-hard Vol fan at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Lenoir City.

Theresa Henslee, from Morning Pointe said "He has this orange and white checkered hat that he always wears-- even if it isn't game day-- you'll still find him with it on."

His enthusiasm for the Tennessee Volunteers has spread through his community and how they're having their own tailgating party.

Carol Tisdale, Morris' daughter said "It's something he really wanted to do. He loves the game and all the action of it so much that we wanted to make sure he could still experience it."

Morning Pointe Assisted Living pulled together and came up with a game plan for a community wide tailgate for all their residents.

"We'll have chips and salsa, wings, turkey wraps and of course Rocky Top will be playing as we all enjoy the game." said Theresa

An exciting game day ahead for Morris and by his smile you could tell he was excited.
