Veterans served free pancakes in

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Several volunteers were up early Saturday morning to serve free pancakes to veterans at Chili's in Lenoir City.

Independent Insurance Consultants and the Tennessee Valley Coalition for the Homeless hosted the all-you-can-eat "Pancakes for Patriots."

They wanted to raise money to help hundreds of veterans and homeless families each year.

"We really wanted to say, here's a place you can go that will give you help as far as shelter, meals, and some other things the Valley Coalition can be helped with," says Blake McCoy with Independent Insurance Consultants.

Everyone was encouraged to leave a $5 donation.
