Under Passing Made Easier
Through the efforts of 6th District Commissioner,
Wayne Gardin, and Loudon County Highway Superintendent, Sean Giles, the
old underpass at Martel and Muddy Creek roads is a little easier to
navigate. Estimates for a total replacement of the heavily traveled
underpass have been estimated as high as five million dollars.
Giles explained that straightening out the road way even just a little, gives those traveling under the tracks a far better line of site making the passage much safer. Most all the work was done by the Loudon County Highway Department for a cost of less than $25,000.00. Drivers should still take great care while traveling under the underpass, but hopefully the changes will make the trip a little safer said Giles. |
