Two-year-old boy mauled by dog in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WATE) - A two-year-old boy was mauled by a family dog Friday evening in Philadelphia. The child was flown to UT Medical Center in Knoxville.

The child was attacked by a bloodhound that belonged to the boy's grandfather. Children were playing in a yard at 4470 Lynn Road when the attack happened.

Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider says the boy suffered significant bites to his head and neck.

The boy's family moved to the area two weeks ago from Florida. They are building a home in the Loudon County area.

Boy in stable condition after attacked by bloodhound

The two year old attacked by a dog is now in good condition. Officials said a bloodhound dog attacked the boy while he was playing in the yard, just after 5:00 outside a home on Lynn Road near Sweetwater.

He has several cuts on his head and neck, but is said to be in stable condition.

The dog belonged to the boy's grandfather. Animal Control currently has the dog.
