Trooper arrests Florida fugitive after minor wreck News Sentinel staff A Florida fugitive was arrested Tuesday morning by a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper investigating a minor crash in Loudon County. Lola M. Pennington, 24, was taken into custody after being treated for injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 444, according to a Department of Safety press release today. Trooper Carey Hixon responded to the crash just after 9 a.m. During his investigation, he discovered that Pennington, one of the drivers, was wanted in Osceola County on larceny and grand theft third-degree charges. Pennington was treated at a local hospital and was arrested after she was released. She is being held in the Loudon County jail and is awaiting extradition to Florida. |
