Trio jailed following chase by deputy

Three individuals were arrested and charged with various drug violations March 15 following a brief car chase.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kamron Kelley received reports of a reckless driver turning off Interstate 75 and found the vehicle at Highway 72 and Queener Road. As he pulled up, the driver began to accelerate.

Kelley turned on his lights and siren, but the driver increased his speed. The deputy saw a baggie with a green leafy substance, later identified as 16.8 grams of marijuana, tossed from the driver’s window, while a needle was thrown from the passenger’s window.
