Trio arrested in Loudon on drug charges

Three people were arrested Jan. 10 and are facing a list of charges after Loudon officers approached a suspicious vehicle.

Loudon Police Officer Michael Farmer was patrolling in the area of Carding Machine Road and had conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, he was contacted by dispatch about a suspicious vehicle idling at a local car wash stall.

He arrived on the scene and approached the vehicle, which had three occupants later identified as Tyrone Fitz, 44, Sweetwater, Kristie Anderson, 51, Greenback, and Savannah Anderson 23, Louisville.
During a search of the vehicle, 5.83 grams of a whitish, clear, rock-like substance believed to be methamphetamine was found in the driver’s seat. Farmer also found three burnt cigarettes, which were believed to be marijuana joints, in a purse containing Kristie’s ID.

No one in the car would claim ownership of the rock-like substance.

During the search, officers located a Hawes 25-caliber pistol in a bag in the back seat.

Officers later learned the back-seat passenger, Fitz, was a convicted felon and had an outstanding warrant out of Knoxville.

Fitz was charged with manufacturing, delivery, sale or possession of meth, simple possession/casual exchange and unlawful carrying and possession of a weapon and held on $32,000 bond.

Savannah Anderson was charged with manufacturing, delivery, sale or possession of meth and simple possession/casual exchange and held on $17,000 bond.

Kristie Anderson was charged with manufacturing, delivery, sale or possession of meth and simple possession/casual exchange and held on $16,000 bond.

Clinton man faces multiple charges

Failure to wear a seatbelt led to numerous charges against a Clinton man.

Lenoir City Police Officer George T. Eldridge was involved in routine traffic patrol on Town Creek Way on Jan. 10 when he passed a black truck with a driver not wearing a seatbelt.

Eldridge pulled over the truck on Glenfield Drive at Harrison Road and talked with the driver, who was identified as Ryan J. Hanks, 45, and passenger Donald Hanks.

While speaking with Ryan, Eldridge noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Eldridge asked for consent to search Ryan’s vehicle, but he refused. Because of the marijuana odor, Eldridge initiated a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Ryan then confessed he had an ounce of marijuana inside a green bag in the vehicle. While retrieving the bag, officers also noticed a small pouch with a glass pipe in the middle console area of the truck.

While inspecting the bag, another glass pipe was located, along with 6.43 grams of methamphetamine in a plastic bag, a wax pen and one small container of THC wax. The approximate weight of the marijuana came to 36.45 grams and will be sent to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for exact measurements. The paraphernalia was photographed and destroyed.

Ryan took ownership of the drugs and paraphernalia and was placed in custody without incident. Officers later learned Ryan was wanted in Loudon County for theft and vandalism.

Hanks was charged with vandalism, theft of property, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, deliver or sell the controlled substance and simple possession/casual exchange and released on $43,000 bond.
