Total Disaster 3

Back in September I did a story of some of the development that was taking place in Lenoir City with no regard or planning for the impact these developments were going to have on the city. Total Disaster Also Total Disaster 2.

Recently, I received updated images of the same developments. It just keeps getting worse. Just look at the change in less than six months.

City officials unleashed this disaster on the city and the county and now all of us will reap the whirlwind.


HD Horton development on old Hwy. 95 across from Kingston Pike Baptist Church.

All together, it looks like about 75 lots on 17 acres. That's about 4.3 units per acre. Less than a quarter mile from the high school.

Harper Village on Williams Ferry Road owner Harper Village Development out of Knoxville

This development is 163 Town Homes on 19 acres. That's about 8.5 units per acre. Units priced in the low $200,000.00

Apartment complex on Cotton Mill Boulevard beside and behind Farm Bureau Insurance

Universal At Town Creek is a apartment complex, owner Watauga Partners II, LLC out of North Carolina. The multi-story apartments will have 265 units on 26 acres. That's more than 10 units per acre. This is one of the projects that the Lenoir City mayor/council gave a PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) major property tax break to. This project is about a quarter mile from the high school and even less from Lenoir City Middle School.
