Total Disaster 14

The total destruction of Lenoir City continues. On tomorrow night's Lenoir City Planning Commission meeting agenda are 3 more annexations and a rezone request for a 20 acre parcel beside the Food City grocery store.

The 20 acre rezone request is for the property adjacent to Food City which was once slated for a movie theater. The R-3 zoning in Lenoir City would allow for 24 units per acre which could be up to 480 units. The current owner is listed as Town Creek At Knoxville LLC. 135 Crossways Park Drive Woodbury New York.

Two of the three annexations are located on Town Creek Road West, a very narrow road. Along with the annexations is included a request to rezone the 16.32 acre property to R-2 which would allow up to 18 units per acre. Potentially allow for 293 units.

The other annexation is at 1798 Old Hwy. 95 right beside the intersection of Adesa Boulevard and Old Hwy. 95 and adjacent to Northview Estates. The 7.2 acre property is currently zoned R-1. No rezone is requested for this property was mentioned on the agenda.
