Tornado confirmed at Blount, Loudon Co. line

GREENBACK, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The National Weather Service confirmed Sunday afternoon, that a tornado did touch-down in the Greenback area, at the Blount, Loudon Co. line.

At 2:04 A.M., 3 miles Southeast of Greenback, at the county line, an EF2 tornado hit.

It was 100 yard wide, and a half mile long, with winds up to 110 miles per hour.

A roof was blown off a house on Thompson Bridge Road, on the Loudon Co. side of Greenback.

A home was destroyed on Cannon Road on the Blount Co. side, where a tree fell on the home and several windows were blown out.

Several trees were also knocked down by the tornado.
